About IMGoing:

IMGoing is a live event entertainment company that produces concerts and events throughout the state of Virginia. IMGoing operates the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion (Portsmouth, Virginia) and the Entertainment and Events Program Agreement for Virginia Beach.  In addition, IMGoing promotes events at most of the large venues in the State including The Hampton Coliseum, Chrysler Hall, Altria Theater, Roanoke Performing Arts Center and Carpenter Theatre. In addition to the nationally touring artists and festivals, IMGoing has produced many community and Military events. The Entertainment and Events Program  program for the City of Virginia Beach produces over 500 events annually. No matter the size of the events, IMGoing’s team of experienced professionals is up to the task. The company is based in Virginia Beach.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Sponsorship Sales Director to bring every sponsorship activation to life on site at various events.
  • Assist with sponsor benefits onsite at all beach events
  • Assist with VIP sponsors at beach events corporate cabanas
  • Coordinate and execute sponsorship load in & load out at all Beach events
  • Manage the fulfillment of all sponsorships benefits 
  • Maintain a working relationship with vendors
  • Understand the complex needs of different events, and diverse clients.
  • Ability to delegate event planning tasks to other staff members where necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor offerings 
  • Attentive to the value of staying under budget while planning event specifications.
  • Issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner
  • Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors, and managing load out.
  • Anticipating and planning for possible different scenarios.
  • Creating sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to present event ideas and plans to clients and vendors.

  • Computer literacy is preferred while being proficient in excel, word, pages, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite.

Title: Beach Events VB Program Director

Responsibilities

  • Act as main point of contact for the City’s contract administrator for the Beach Events Program
  • Oversee and develop the program, including all events, festivals and entertainment resulting in a master schedule.
  • Coordinate logistics with the City’s Special Events Office
  • Communicate plan to the City and stakeholders
  • Schedule, prepare agendas, and lead staff meetings
  • Provide strategic planning including identifying new opportunities for growth, ways to increase revenue through sponsorship and/or concessions, determine which events should be discontinued, changed, or added, research what other event producers in the market are doing
  • Evaluate events with the marketing metrics to enhance the program.
  • Work with finance department to develop program and event budgets
  • Implement and supervise internal financial controls for the program and help create financial reports for the City as required
  • Oversee and coordinate the submission of City permit applications for events 
  • Determine the overall site layout of each event with production and operations
  • Oversee and manage production and operation managers and staff who execute day to day operations for the program which includes but is not limited to: advancing all artists and execute band riders, hiring vendors for lights and sound, coordinating with the vendor coordinator for the placement of vendors at events, overseeing the storage and maintenance of program-owned equipment and resources and ordering tents, tables, chairs, porta-johns, recycling bins, grey water containers, etc., and the collection of bids for production and operation services
  • Provide the necessary sponsorship sales and activation support to insure a robust sponsorship program to include preparing sponsorship packages and supporting materials, executing contracts and supporting documents
  • Oversee and coordinate with the box office manager for ticketed events to include the set up ticket sales on selected platforms, maintain files with event ticket information on a year-to-year basis, determine venue capacities and seating layouts, determine box office hours and full execution of box office operations on site
  • Oversee and manage signage program to include sponsor signage
  • Oversee and manage vending program for Beach Events
  • Oversee and manage talent booking
  • Oversee and manage food and beverage operations for Beach Event
  • Work with Marketing Department to establish marketing plans for each event, media buying strategy, timelines for all execution of all marketing elements, eblast development, poster design and distribution
  • Oversee web hosting and maintenance
  • Oversee and manage website content for needed updates (sponsor logos, event data, and entertainment schedules)
  • Participate in the implementation social media strategy

IMGoing is looking for a Marketing Manager for the region's best live entertainment company. The ideal candidate will have experience with live music, event of festival-specific Marketing. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage day-to-day operation of the marketing plan and calendar for Portsmouth Pavilion and Beach Events
  • Solicit and hire and manage any outside marketing agencies who will handle specific marketing efforts
  • Manage the development of needed creative assets with Graphic Designer/s
  • Negotiate and manage the ad buys with TV, Radio, and Web for IMGoing
  • Manage and fulfill sponsorship and talent ad inclusion as outlined in executed agreements

The Role:

This Event Operations Internship will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with event operations of the 2021 Beach Events program. 

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Program Managers, this event operations intern will be responsible for organizing and helping to execute events within the beach events 2021 program.  Tasks will be assigned based on skill set and the immediate needs of the event.

 

Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in customer service roles or other relevant experience

Must love being and working outdoors at the beach

Must be flexible is assigned responsibilities

Strong attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with different levels of the organization
